Lytt is a digital assistant that helps you talk about topics you don’t want to address openly in your company. With Lytt you can anonymously and securely speak up and get help from a trusted person.

Anything you have experienced or observed at work. Lytt makes it easier to address difficult issues. These can be conflicts among colleagues (e.g. bullying, harassment, discrimination) or feedback on other sensitive issues (e.g. cultural issues, bias).
Lytt supports you in all unpleasant situations, such as for example:

— I received an ambiguous invitation to dinner from my supervisor. What should I do?
— How do I react professionally to unwanted approaches by a team member?
— How do I address the fact that I cannot cope with the high workload?

Using Lytt feels like a familiar chat: To find out what happened, Lytt asks you questions and responds to your answers. At the end you have the option to send the chat log as a message and, if you wish, be connected to a trusted person for further help. Each step gives you full control over whether you want to reveal your identity or remain anonymous.

Your anonymity is our highest priority. You don’t need to provide any information that would reveal your identity. You will receive a randomly generated case number and a PIN to track your report. This does not allow any indication of your identity. We use extensive encryption algorithms and do not store your IP address or location-related data to guarantee your anonymity.

After talking to Lytt, you have the option of being connected to a trusted person. Here you can clarify further questions and get first aid. If you decide against this option, your incident will be forwarded as feedback. At every step you have full control over whether you want to reveal your identity or remain anonymous.

Your report can only be viewed by the trusted person your company has designated. The trusted person is trained to handle your request in a professional and strictly confidential manner.

After the dialogue with Lytt, it is possible to establish anonymous contact with a confidant. This is a contact person designated by your company. This person has been trained by us and will contact you on request to discuss further steps and to work with you on a solution for your situation. If your company has decided to involve an external trusted person, you can also rely on the help of selected experts.

Yes, we want to encourage observers to support those affected by their report. At the beginning, Lytt will ask you whether you would like to report something you have experienced or observed.

Yes, if you are not sure how to classify your experience, that is not a problem. Lytt will help you find out what happened. If you feel uncomfortable or feel that you are being treated unfairly, we strongly recommend that you let them know. This is the only way to increase the likelihood that your situation will improve. The trusted person can help you with the clarification, answer questions and advise you on possible next steps.

It is our most important concern to ensure the protection and security of your data. We therefore use extensive encryption algorithms and do not store your IP address or location-related data. If, for example, you close the browser window during the dialogue with Lytt, your data will be deleted immediately from our servers. In addition, we will never disclose your chat history or other private information without your consent.

The General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) defines sexual harassment as “unwanted, sexually determined conduct that violates the dignity of the person concerned” (AGG §3 para. 4).

In order to assess whether your case involves sexual harassment, you will find some examples below:

Glances
— An employee stares permanently at your cleavage in a conversation

Gestures
— An employee makes suggestive gestures about sexual acts or uses work objects as sexual symbols
— An employee shows pornographic content

Words
— An employee repeatedly comments on your figure
— An employee says sentences like, “Why don’t you sit on my lap?”
— An employee makes sexual allusions or obscene jokes

Physical actions
— Any unwanted actions such as kissing, or physical proximity

Discrimination describes any form of unjustified discrimination or unequal treatment of individuals or groups. This can take the form of statements, gestures or actions. Discrimination can take various forms in practice:

Origin
— A dark-skinned employee is only deployed in the warehouse because, according to the boss, only local employees should be in contact with customers

Gender
— A woman is harassed by her male colleagues

Religion
— A caretaker in a church old people’s home is dismissed because he has left the church

Age

Sexual Orientation
— A geriatric nurse gets fired because he’s homosexual.

Important: Not everything that is perceived as discriminatory is prohibited by law. A discrimination occurs when someone is treated less favourably in a comparable situation than someone due to one of the above characteristics.

Bullying is any form of offensive, intimidating, or malicious behavior or abuse or abuse of power used as a means to intimidate, humiliate, or disparage another person or have a similar effect.

Important: Mobbing occurs regularly and over a long period of time.
